Company Philosophy
The philosophy on which Adaptev is built advocates radical and extreme
approaches to doing business, pushing back the boundaries, being different and having the courage,
determination and commitment to press forward with new ideas without fear or prejudice. At the same
time the philosophy commits to a realistic approach, knowing the limitations of the company and
knowing the possibilities of what can be achieved, advocating absolute focus in the company's
approach, setting challenging but realistic goals and above all to the attack the future in an
evolutionary way.
Building a company philosophy upon which the company is built is about creating a culture through
which every aspect of running the business day-to-day is based. Without a culture that advocates it
and makes it persuasive in everything everybody does the philosophy becomes a "phase" and the company
will inevitably fall into the general malaise of mediocre software companies. Only with an inherent
philosophy and a culture with which it is interwoven into the fabric of the business can our
ambitious goals be achieved.
Being radical in our approach fundamentally means being different. The only way for a small company
in the technology market space to succeed is to have an identifiable and constant differential from
the competition. The RR philosophy applies here also. We are radically different in every single way,
not just in our products, not just in our services, not just in our marketing or promotion and not
just in our R&D activities. We have developed a completely different yet highly exciting way of
doing business which does not limit us and does not limit our clients to narrow range of
possibilities. Being agile also is crucial to establishing a differential. On the same philosophy
the company also needs to be realistic in the lengths it can go to being different, the need to
respect standard and established ways of doing business, to cater for people's caution or even
misunderstanding of cutting edge technology and radical methods and to work within that "real-world"
framework.
We can look at the RR approach as working within our sphere of influence, that is the things we can
work on to grow and to achieve success, to not be afraid to be different but to respect the immediate
limitations of what we can influence within the current technology market space. By working hard on
the things we can influence we expand our sphere of influence and thus expand what can be achieved
realistically. In 2 years time the things we can achieve realistically will be entirely different to
what can be achieved today. We cannot change the "real-world" ways of doing business in the software
technology space however we can change how we do business which in turn will win us more acclaim,
respect and general acceptance of our methods.
First and foremost we are here to help businesses achieve success. We want to offer them a set of
outstanding software solutions and services to help them be more agile and achieve greater
differentiation from their competitors.
To achieve this goal we must deliver software excellence. Total client satisfaction and strive
towards that goal. To do this we must strive to deliver a different kind of solution that will
address real-world problems and enable our clients to be agile by providing agile enterprise-wide
solutions.
By focussing on these goals the recognition, the awards and the achievements will all come our way.
And so will the financial rewards.
This is not to indicate that we work for free or more cheaply than our competitors. In order to
succeed we must make a profit in the short term as well as the long term. The concept is that
we have a different set of priorities to most businesses. We aim first and foremost for excellence,
quality and to be the very best at what we do. By doing this we help ensure total client
satisfaction, which in turn inevitably delivers rewards in both recognition and money. Money is a
consequence of the correct application of the philosophy, not the philosophy itself.
